Long time grooming educator Melissa Verplank, guides you on the art of reading the blueprint of any dog. She digs into the written breed standards, canine anatomy, terminology and structure – and how it correlates to the grooming table. In this presentation, she helps you understand how to groom any dog — no matter what breed with style and flair. Solid grooming is about being able to read the guidelines following those blueprints in the grooming process. You will learn the importance of bones, muscles, skin and fur and how you can use them to your advantage. You can enhance any dog or detract from them simply by leaving or removing fur. Groomers and stylists need to know how to interpret breed standards combined with a firm understanding of canine anatomy.
Excellent grooming is an art. It’s based on a solid foundation – a canine blueprint. Canine anatomy. Conformation. Structure. We know there are no perfect dogs. Yet you can reshape the landscape of any dog. Simply follow the guidelines set forth in its blueprint – if you know how to read it.
