Special Seminar – Groomer Chemistry 101: Anatomy of Products

Thursday, March 12, 2020 2:00 pm–5:00 pm Spanish Suite

As a professional groomer, your clients look to you to be the expert in skin and coat care and understanding the proper selection of grooming products for their attributes.   This hands-on, laboratory training course will take you through the building of a shampoo and evaluating the foam characteristics needed for professional use.  We will also evaluate conditioner types and how they interact with the anatomy of the coat for fullness and shine.  As a group, we will also investigate the use of hypoallergenic products and how to recognize if they truly are according to label claims. Fragrance selection and the proper blending of components for either longevity or quick flash off will be understood by the use of the fragrance pyramid and fragrance wheel.  This truly will be the first hands-on course you have ever had with regard to grooming products and will be a great fit for both the beginning and advanced groomer!
