Managing Geriatric and Special Needs Pets in Boarding Facilities

Saturday, March 09, 2019 3:00 pm–4:00 pm Spanish Suite

With nearly twenty years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and her strong background in anatomy, physiology, medical care and medications, it was only natural for Charlotte to attract geriatric and special needs pets. Once word got out about the level of detail and care provided, there were times when it felt like it was a specialty boarding facility. Her experiences range from arthritic, blind or deaf; to epileptic, diabetic, to recovering from ACL surgery and so much more.
In this session Charlotte will address the geriatric pet and the different types of special needs pets that will require additional attention and care while in your care. She’ll present processes and procedures for tracking that care, veterinary communications and what to do in case of an emergency. Lastly, how do you decide what type of special needs pets you will accept, if any and those you cannot accept.
